Made-to-order & personalisation

Sell made-to-order products without creating a SKU for every possibility.

Capture the choices, sizes, dimensions, personalisation and artwork that make this customer’s order different, then keep that specification attached to the sale and the work needed to supply it.

Keep the real product identity. Capture the customer-specific part on the order.

A product can have fixed characteristics that determine the real SKU - then separate order choices that should not create another thousand products. Tall Emu lets you separate those concepts instead of turning every size, colour, name or number into a stock item.

Capture the options that change the product.

Use product features for choices such as style, sleeve, fabric, colour, finish or other configured values. Where a choice determines a real stocked or purchased SKU, it can resolve to that product. Where it is only an order requirement, keep it as captured information.

Use a quantity matrix when the breakdown matters.

For apparel and similar products, one Sales Order line can capture how many are required in each size without creating a separate size SKU. The same idea works anywhere the customer buys one configured product but production needs a quantity breakdown.

Personalise individual units without creating individual products.

Capture per-unit information such as player name and player number against the garment or item that needs it. The personalisation becomes part of the order specification, not another product in the catalogue.

Keep artwork, proofs and files with the job.

Custom print, embroidery and branded work often needs artwork and approval before it can proceed. Keep the relevant files and proof requirements with the order instead of relying on somebody to find the right email attachment later.

Make it yourself or buy it in for the customer.

Manufacture it

Use the Sales Order demand to create or link the Work Order and carry the customer-specific production requirements forward.

Buy it for the order

Raise the supplier purchase needed for this customer and keep the incoming product tied to the order it will fulfil.

Mix stock and custom work

Keep normal stocked products as stock, while custom versions follow the made-to-order path. They do not need to share the same inventory identity.

Version 3 gives MTO a much stronger production hand-off.

The Version 3 manufacturing work is designed to carry configured values, dimensions, files and other order requirements into the production context, so the Work Order can preserve what the customer actually approved rather than relying on a fresh interpretation later.
