Works with MYOB and Xero
Tall Emu isn’t an accounting package and doesn’t want to be. MYOB or Xero stays where it is, doing the accounts, payroll and compliance. Tall Emu runs the rest of the business around it - the quotes, orders, stock, purchasing, manufacturing, warehouse work and freight - and keeps the two in sync.
Most product businesses start in MYOB or Xero and it does the job. Then the business grows. Quoting moves into Word or Excel. Stock lives in a spreadsheet, or three. Orders come in by phone, email and the website and someone retypes them. Purchasing is a separate list. The warehouse runs on paper. Every one of those is a sensible fix on the day, and together they become the way the business runs.
The accounting software isn’t the problem. MYOB and Xero are perfectly good at accounting - for businesses with a large turnover too. Where they fall down is operations. They were never built to run a quote with live stock and freight, a pick list, a work order or a multi-location stock position, and the add-ons that try to bolt those on each become another disconnected system.
Invoices, payments, customers and products sync two ways, so the bookkeeper sees one financial record and nobody enters a sale twice. How the MYOB sync works → · How the Xero sync works →
You’re not migrating your accounts, retraining your accountant or starting a six-month ERP project. You keep using MYOB or Xero. What changes is that quoting, invoicing, inventory and the operational work you’ve been squeezing into the accounting package (or into spreadsheets beside it) move into a system built for them - and the financial results flow back automatically.
That’s the whole idea. Compliance and payroll stay with the accounting software. Tall Emu runs the process and helps you run it efficiently.
You can, and plenty of businesses do: a quoting app, an inventory app, a warehouse app, a freight app, a CRM. Each one is fine on its own. The cost is at the joins - the same customer in five places, stock figures that don’t agree, a quote that has to be retyped as an order, and a team that spends its day checking which system is right. Tall Emu is one system for that whole chain, with MYOB or Xero as the accounting layer underneath.
