Sell kits with their components
An expandable Bill of Materials can show the underlying components on a sale. With the required settings enabled, those components can support purchasing and customer-facing sale documents.
Repackage bulk products
Use separate builds for making a bulk product and dividing or packaging it into sellable items. Each build records its inputs and outputs.
Buy and sell in different units
Configure buying and selling units such as individual items, cases or pallets against a master product, with a defined quantity per unit.
Know when the build becomes available stock.
Starting a Work Order allocates its input stock. Completing it reduces the input quantities and increases the finished output quantities at the selected location. Your team needs to record these actions for the stock position to reflect the build.
A kit shown as components on a sale and an assembly built into a finished stock item serve different purposes. Agree the product setup with your team so purchasing, assembly and sales use the same approach.

Buy the missing parts against the work that needs them.
Reserve the components for a build and review any backorders. Staff can create a linked Purchase Order, choose the supplier and select the items to buy. When goods are received, release the backorders to make that stock available to the work.
Keep finished goods connected to the customer order.
Sell finished products or kits through Tall Emu quotes and Sales Orders. Once built stock is available, your team can continue with packing and dispatch.
With the relevant manufacturing setting enabled, Tall Emu can create an Outbound Shipment when the Work Order is completed and stock is available. Picking, packing and dispatch still need to be carried out and recorded.
Keep MYOB or Xero as your accounting system.
Tall Emu manages the operational stock and order records. Supported financial and stock transactions sync to your accounting system when the integration is enabled and configured.
Sync rules differ by record type. Records are queued, imported payments are periodic, and missing or incorrect data can require correction. Quotes and Sales Orders remain operational records in Tall Emu.

Can we sell a kit without treating it as a separate finished build?
An expandable Bill of Materials can display the components of a manufactured product on a sale. The product, BOM and sale settings need to support that setup. Confirm whether you need a component-based kit or a stocked finished assembly before configuring it.
Can we split a bulk product into packaged items?
Yes. The documented manufacturing workflow supports one build for a bulk product and another to divide and package it into sellable outputs. Each build uses its own inputs and outputs.
Can we buy by the case and sell individual items?
Yes. Configure buying and selling units against a master product and specify the quantity per unit. Ask the setup team to check your units and stock display before using the workflow.
When does an assembly increase finished stock?
Finished output stock increases when the Work Order is marked Complete. Starting the Work Order allocates its components; completion reduces input stock and increases output stock at the selected location.
