    A machine costs $5,000 and 2 hours to set up, but then can product 1 widget per minute at $1 cost per widget.   The first widget is $5001 total cost.   the second widget is $2,501.   If you run the machine for 60 minutes – the widgets cost $84 each, and if you run it for 4 hours the cost-per-widget further reduces to $22 each.
